Demo project

Light falling into an old workshop

Overview

New life for an old frame.

The Old Workshop retains its brick shell, timber trusses, and worn floors. New interventions are light and reversible, letting the history of the building stay legible.

The Brief

Adapt a disused workshop into a working studio and small gallery without losing its character.

The Approach

We repaired rather than replaced, inserting new services and partitions as freestanding elements. Daylight from the original clerestories now reaches the full depth of the plan.
